Roll-off dumpster rental in Monroe

Approx. 36 road miles west of Janesville, around 56 minutes — Highway 11 west through Orfordville and Brodhead, the longest run on our list.

Monroe is Highway 11 west from the yard, about 56 minutes through Brodhead — the longest run on our list, and next morning as a rule. It is the Green County seat, with the 1891 courthouse on the Square that the city calls its center, and the city's own profile puts Mercy Hospital in Janesville at 36 miles.

It is also the oldest population we serve — 22.9% aged 65 and over (Census) — with 63.1% of homes owner-occupied and big employers in Colony Brands, SSM Health Monroe Clinic & Hospital and Monroe Truck Equipment. That makes it estate cleanouts, downsizing, remodels and facilities work. The city licenses haulers, and we explain that plainly below.

What comes out of Monroe properties

Estate and downsizing cleanouts in 20s and 30s, kitchens, baths and roofs in 15s and 20s, and facilities and fit-out work in 30s. The city page says bulky waste and rubble are a matter for Pellitteri and any extra fees, code §8-3-2 defines rubble as the inorganic waste of construction, repair or demolition — bricks, concrete, tile, masonry, plaster — and §8-3-4(D) lets the city charge for separating rubble not kept separate. The yard-waste site on 5th Avenue is free but "only City residents may use it, and contractors are not allowed." Housing age was not found on an official source, so we size by what you tell us.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Monroe

Right-of-way — permit required: §11-1-2(I) makes it unlawful, except under a permit, "to use any street, sidewalk, park or other public ground for the deposit of building materials," and §11-1-7(B)(4) allows "temporary encroachments or obstructions authorized by permit." The application goes to the Board of Public Works and the City Clerk issues it (§11-1-3, 11-1-4); §11-1-5 requires guards, fences or barriers at least 3 feet high with red lights at night; the fee was not found. The driveway needs no permit and is a lot quicker than a Board meeting.

Who may haul — the rule that matters: §8-3-6(A) says a licence from the City is required to collect or haul solid waste in Monroe (except hauling your own household or business waste), applied for and renewed annually with the City Clerk on a July-to-June licence year, with proof of the state DNR licence, covered and leak-free vehicles, and a fee set by Council resolution that is not published. §8-3-6(E) bars collection between 10 pm and 6 am in any zone. The City licenses haulers, and we hold our Monroe licence.

Where it tips: Monroe loads go to the Green County Landfill at W2002 County Highway SS in Brodhead, on the Highway 11 run home — Monday to Friday 7 am to 3 pm, 608-897-8605. Monroe is a non-contracted municipality there, so garbage is on the $77-a-ton tier and construction waste is $100 a ton with a $25 minimum. The landfill will not take brick, cement, concrete or dirt at all, and "mixed demolition/trash loads are required to be separated" — so heavy clean fill needs its own box and a mixed job is kept to one stream.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Monroe

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the 7-day rental, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is shingles or concrete, we say up front that it needs its own box.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver walks the spot with you and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or job site, boards under the rails. Same-day in Janesville if you called before noon.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, appliances, electronics, batteries, oil, yard waste in a mixed load. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and sort it right

Clean concrete, brick and brush go to the Clean Fill Facility, appliances and metal to the landfill's recycling areas, and the rest to the licensed landfill for that county. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Monroe — common questions

Is Monroe same-day or next-day?

Next morning as a rule — it is the longest run on our list at about 56 minutes out Highway 11.

Can a dumpster sit in the street in Monroe?

Only under a Board of Public Works permit issued by the City Clerk, with 3-foot barriers and red lights at night. The driveway needs no permit.

Does Monroe restrict who can supply a roll-off?

Yes — §8-3-6 requires a City hauler licence renewed each July with the City Clerk. We hold our Monroe licence.

Can concrete or brick go in a Monroe container?

Not in a mixed load — the Green County Landfill refuses brick, cement, concrete and dirt outright and requires demolition and trash to be separated. A clean-fill box is priced separately; tell us what is coming out.
